- Description: A water-soluble artemisinin derivative prepared as a sterile powder for emergency parenteral treatment of malaria.
- Composition: Clear glass vials containing 60 mg or 120 mg of sterile, lyophilized Artesunate powder.
- Indication: Initial emergency treatment of severe or complicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in adult and pediatric populations.
Dosage: 2.4 mg/kg administered via IV bolus (or IM) at 0, 12, and 24 hours, then once daily until the patient can tolerate a complete course of oral combination therapy.
